I enjoyed the recent report of your trip to Kyiv. Thank you for that. Specifically, I appreciated your reference to the air alert phone app. I downloaded that and indicated Kyiv as my location. Wow. What a lesson in compassion. I’m in Oregon, far from the conflict, but with this app, I get air raid alerts when I’m just living my normal life; when my wife and I are out for dinner, or in the middle of the night (I sleep through them; she gets annoyed). It is a profound reminder of what the Ukrainian people are suffering through every day and how lucky I am to not suffer that constant fear. Every time I get an air raid alert, I am humbled and saddened to know that in that moment I am safe while others are faced with life or death circumstances. Thank you for mentioning this resource. It has been enlightening, informative, and saddening, all at the same time.
